Single Board Model

Methodist churches have the option of choosing to use a single board instead of numerous committees according to District Superintendent Rev. Karen Jones on March 31, 2022 in a presentation to Tennison’s Administrative Board. This model is also called the Simplified Accountability Structure of Church Leadership.

Churches may choose the single board or simplified structure if there are too many redundant church meetings, too many committees, or too many vacancies on committees.

D.S. Rev. Karen Jones said, “One of the best reasons to use the model is that it doesn’t take three months to make a decision.”
